What is Baystate Wing Hospital?

Baystate Wing Hospital offers a broad range of medical, surgical, and psychiatric services. Our expanded, comprehensive Emergency Department (ED) provides comprehensive emergency services for adults and children around the clock. The ED includes a six-bed critical care unit and is a primary stroke center designated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. We're recognized for stroke care with the Get With the Guidelines® Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Silver Plus quality achievement award from the American Heart Association.

What time does Baystate Wing open?

It is open to visitors seven days a week from 7 am–10 am, 11:30 am–1:30 pm, and 4 pm–6:30 pm.

Is Baystate Wing Hospital affiliated with UMass?

Baystate Wing Hospital is changing the owner of our MRI from UMass to a Baystate affiliated entity as we are no longer affiliated with UMass. By state regulation, this requires that we go through a Determination of Need process, which is the notice that you see posted. There is no change to our service other than the ownership change. MRI services will continue to be offered at Baystate Wing Hospital as they currently exist. Read the notice.

What do you bring to a patient registration?

Please complete the patient registration letter and bring it along with a Proof of identity (e.g. your driving license or passport) to submit at the reception.

Is patient access 24 hours?

WHAT’S MORE, BECAUSE PATIENT ACCESS IS A 24 HOUR ONLINE SERVICE YOU CAN DO THIS IN YOUR OWN TIME, DAY OR NIGHT.

How to link a patient to a practice?

Click on your name in the top right-hand corner, then select Account. Scroll down to the Link a practice or user section. Select either: Link to my practice (to link to your practice). Link another patient to your account (to act on behalf of another patient as a proxy). Locate your new practice (or the patient's practice for a proxy user) ...

What happens if you move practice?

If you move practice, your old practice will close your Patient Access account in their clinical system, however, the account details are still held on the Patient Access website. The account will be restricted, as you are no longer linked to a practice, but you can still access the account and link to your new practice.

Can you link a proxy to a patient?

You would use this same process if you have been registered as a proxy user for a patient or relative, and already use Patient Access. This process will allow you to link your account to the patient.

Can you delete your patient account at a new practice?

You are now linked to your new practice (or the patient you are caring for) and you'll have access to all enabled services. Alternatively, for patients who have moved practices, Patient Access can send you a delete account email and you can delete your account and re-register from scratch at your new practice.
