What are the rules for visitors to the hospital?

An additional visitor (who is designated for the entire hospital stay) is allowed from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. unless discussed with patient care services leadership. Children under age 12 may not visit. Exceptions may be considered and approved by patient care services leadership. A doula is allowed.

What is a Patient Access account?

Patient Access is a great online service which allows you to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your medical records and send secure messages to the practice. The services is open 24/7/365 and can be accessed from your home PC, Tablet or Mobile phone.

How do I access my Patient Access app?

The Patient Access app is available on the iOS and Android app stores for free. You can also access the website at www.patientaccess.com. You will need to register for Patient Access either online, if your practice allow this, or by asking for a registration letter from your practice.

How does Patient Access app work?

Your practice uses a clinical information system to manage patient records. Each time you have a consultation with a clinician or test results are sent back from the lab, the details are recorded to build up your medical history and help with your future care.

Is MyGP same as Patient Access?

Other similar apps are Patient Access and the NHS app. You may have recently received a text message about the new MyGP App that is available to our patients. The Patient Access App is still working, MyGP is just another alternative available for our patients to use if they wish.

What is the difference between the NHS app and the Patient Access app?

Unlike our current Patient Access system, you can even prove your identity using the App itself without needing to bring any ID to the surgery. If you are already a user of Patient Access, you will be able to access exactly the same information on the NHS App as you currently do on Patient Access.

What ID do I need for Patient Access?

We will need to see photo ID - either a passport or drivers licence. Step 3. The receptionist will provide you with a Patient Access token document which you will need in order to sign up to Patient Access.

Yes. You can quickly and securely give temporary access to your medical record. The shared record will be available for 24 hours via a unique link and secured using an access code. The option to Share Record , is under Medical Record on the dashboard.

Is Patient Access part of NHS?

The NHS App and Patient Access are two online services available to patients. You will find they save you time and help you take more control of your health, particularly if you have any long-term medical conditions which require regular monitoring and frequent prescriptions.

The myGP app, created in 2014, is an NHS-assured provider of online access to primary care medical services. They were granted NHS assurance in 2019, certifying them as a secure and recognised place for patients to access healthcare services, including medical record access.

How many visitors are allowed per patient?

Two visitors are permitted per patient. No children under 12 are permitted, unless approved by patient care services leadership. No visitors are allowed for patients with COVID-19, except for clergy and for patients who are at end-of-life.

What time can you visit the hospital?
