How do I request a repeat prescription?

Written Requests in Person or by Post You should include your name, date of birth and the item(s) you require. We also ask that you indicate where you would like to collect your prescription from. Please ensure that your request is clearly legible: If we cannot read your request, we cannot process it.

Is Patient Access the same as NHS App?

What happens if a pharmacy marks medication as delivered?

Your pharmacy has marked some medication items as “dispatched” and they will be delivered to you. Your pharmacy will notify you as the remaining items are “dispatched”.

What does "dispatched" mean in pharmacy?

Your pharmacy has marked all medication items as “dispatched” and they will be delivered to you.

Does a pharmacy send push notifications?

A push notification or email will not be sent. Your pharmacy is preparing your medication. Your pharmacy has started the process of preparing your medications. This process includes labelling boxes and gathering the required medications. This status will be visible in the app.

Does GP approve prescriptions?

Your GP has approved all the medications included in your request. The prescriptions are now ready to be downloaded by the pharmacy.

Can a GP cancel a medication request?

You have cancelled your medication request from patient access before it could be reviewed by a GP. There is currently a known defect that advises a GP has cancelled a request when it has actually been cancelled by the patient. This will be fixed in an upcoming release. Your pharmacy will start preparing your medication.

Can a pharmacy see a prescription that was rejected?

Your pharmacy has downloaded the prescription where some requested medications were rejected by your GP. The rejected medications will not be visible to the pharmacy but you can see them within Patient Access.

What is patient assistance program?

A Patient Assistance Program may be available for patients without commercial insurance coverage or insured patients whose insurance does not cover their prescription. MuGard may be available at no charge to patients who meet financial and other criteria ‡.
