You can sign up to the NHS app on your phone/tablet which will allow you to order repeat prescriptions. You can e-mail a request across – please state – Name- Address-Date of Birth- required chemist and required medication. You can handwrite a request and post it through the practice letterbox.
Can a receptionist take a prescription over the phone?
For safety reasons, receptionists can not take requests verbally over the phone or at the reception desk. This has in the past often resulted in confusion and we do not feel this practice to be safe. A receptionist refusing to a take a prescription request at reception or on the telephone is not being difficult but following practice policy.
