Cumberland House Surgery is a long established medical practice just outside of Southport Town Centre. The premises were upgraded and extended in 2011 and we have further refurbished and built a two storey extension in March 2018. There are five GP partners with a list size of approximately 11,100 patients.

How to get a home visit from a doctor?
Housebound patients can receive a home visit from a doctor by calling the practice between 8am and 10.30am. You’ll need to give some details about your problem to our receptionist so your doctor can call you to carry out an assessment to determine whether an at-home appointment is appropriate.
When will NHS electronic prescriptions be processed?
We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from the 7th September 2020. Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money. You will receive your prescriptions in the same way as you do now.

Making Online Appointments
To increase patient access to our services we offer a 24 hour online appointment booking system. First of all you must register to use the internet appointment booking facility. Ask the receptionist for a registration form, which provides the information you need to register to use the internet facility.
Telephone Consultations
You can request a telephone consultation with a GP/Nurse/Clinical Pharmacist – the receptionist can take your details and the clinician will ring you back to discuss your concerns.
Practice Nurses
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Is Cumberland House Surgery a GP practice?

Dr Roseberry & Dr Irvine mentor and train GP Registrars in line with recommendations by the local Mersey Deanery and RCGP.
