After 28 days your practice will need to provide you with a new letter. 5 Type your personal details, create a password (this should be longer than six characters and contain at least one number and one letter), and then complete the security questions. 6 If you complete the security questions, you’ll be able to reset your own password if you forget it in the future. If you don’t complete them, you’ll need to ask your practice to reset your account. 7 Make a note of the user ID that’s generated for you, as you’ll use this to sign in to Patient Access from now on. 8 You can use the same user ID and password, both for desktop and mobile app.

Is my information secure?

All information that is sent to your surgery via Patient Access is secure. Your personal details are encrypted and protected using the highest standard internet security, so it cannot be intercepted. Only you and your GP surgery are able to see this information

Via the Patient Access website, visit www.patientaccess.com and select ‘Technical Support’ to submit a ticket.

How long does it take to respond to a complaint about patient access?

We will respond to your complaint within 10 working days. The main emphasis will be to resolve your complaint on a local level. We hope that we will be able to resolve any issue that you may raise.

How long does a routine appointment last?

Routine appointments usually last 15 minutes. Urgent appointments may need to be shorter when the surgery is busy. Appointments are for medical problems only. If you are requesting other services, please contact reception first.

What to do if you are too unwell to go to the surgery?

If you are too unwell to get to the surgery, please telephone for advice. The doctor will advise you on the most appropriate way of getting medical help.

How to order repeat prescriptions?

Repeat prescriptions should be ordered using the printed list that came with your last prescription. Tick the items you need and hand the slip in to reception or send it in by post. If your medication review is overdue, you will need to see a doctor before further repeat prescriptions can be issued.

Do you need a password to use the online surgery?

To use the online service you must have obtained a user name & password from the surgery.

Is there always a doctor when we are closed?

There is always a doctor available when we are closed.

Can you book an appointment in advance?

Some appointments can be booked in advance. The majority of our appointments with doctors are available to book on the day of the appointment. On the day appointments can be made at 08:30am via telephone. You may also book a telephone consultation with the doctor or nurse, who would ring you back at an agreed time.
